Since 4 years now, we love to produce our wide range stock in Fossil Marble. directly aside the stone pits in the South of Morocco we rent a handicrafts enterprise for the duration of minimum 4 month. So we freely can produce and develop our own ideas and our own models.
This prevents us of aquiring the usual stuff produced for the tourist market. The work is structured in the typical manner of a cooperative.
Childrens work is not allowed in here, so the youngest worker is about 18 years old. His name is Mohamed, and he is deaf from on birth. Because of this, he is working very exactly, and is a good polisher. As there is always lack of good quality dust masks, we provide them with good ones for about 1 year. 2 first assistants (Abd el Chalk and Hassan) are doing a good job, to produce our difficult models. I am personally present all day long for controlling reasons and for cutting difficult custom- made products.

Hassans mother is the best finisher i have. Unfortunately she has not enough time, beside the houshold, to work for us. Abd el Chalk loves the Sculptures. He seems to live inside the stone. From the very beginnning he always follows strictly his idea to the end. From  time to time everybody changes his place, to avoid ennui. Skilled workers earn a salary comparable to a teachers income. Others earn a bit more as working in agriculture. I personally guarantee, everybody gets his earnings after work is finished. This is very much appreciated, because normally they have to wait long time. Ali is the boss- always busy and trying to sell the stuff all day long. And- of course - wailing all time about the reparation costs.
